Privacy policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

This policy describes which personal data Levizi processes when you use levizi.com and the Levizi app, why we do it, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Levizi is responsible for the personal data on the platform. When you book a car, the rental company receives the booking details. The rental company is an independent business and is itself responsible for how it uses the details in the rental.

What data we process

Account: email address or mobile number, name and password (the password is stored encrypted and cannot be read by us). Bookings: name, email, phone number, car, dates, price and anything you write in the booking. Driver's licence: a photo of your licence if you upload one – most rental companies require it, some don't. Reviews you write or receive. Technical information: approximate country based on your IP address, chosen language, and which cars are viewed, linked to your account if you are signed in.

GPS in the rental cars

Some rental companies fit a GPS tracker in their cars. If the car you rent has one, its position is recorded continuously, including while you are renting it. We store the time, coordinates, speed, heading, altitude, distance driven according to the odometer, whether the ignition is on and whether the car is moving, along with the tracker's technical status such as battery voltage and mobile signal. From the speed and the road's posted speed limit we calculate per-trip summaries, such as the highest speed reached and how much of the time the car stayed within the limit. A rental company can also define an allowed area – one or more countries, an area drawn on the map, or a distance from a city – and be alerted when the car leaves it; the position where the car crossed the boundary is then stored. The positions belong to the car rather than to you, but because the booking shows who rented the car at a given time, they can be linked to you. Only the rental company that owns the car can access them; other rental companies and other customers never can. The legal basis is performance of the rental agreement, together with the rental company's and our legitimate interest in protecting the vehicle against theft and recovering a car that is not returned. The data is deleted when the tracker is removed from the car. Questions about tracking in a car you have rented go to the rental company, which decides whether a car has a tracker and how the data is used in the rental.

Why

To carry out the booking and give the rental company what it needs to hand over the car (contract). To send confirmations and reminders by email, SMS and WhatsApp (contract). To prevent abuse and fraud (legitimate interest). To comply with bookkeeping law (legal obligation).

Who receives the data

The rental company you book with. Service providers that only process the data on our behalf: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, in the EU), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS and WhatsApp), Traccar (receives the positions from the trackers, for the rental companies that use them), and Anthropic and Hugging Face (AI features such as translation, summaries and image generation). Providers outside the EU are used under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We never sell personal data.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed for sign-in and language choice. No advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers.

How long we keep data

Account details are kept as long as you have an account. Bookings and records are kept for seven years for bookkeeping. When you close your account, sign-in is blocked and your profile is anonymised; bookings and a copy of the account details are kept as long as they are needed for bookkeeping, disputes and preventing abuse.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have errors corrected, to have data erased or restricted where the law allows, to object to processing, and to receive your data in a machine-readable format. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
